Planning Your Paris Visit

What is the best season to visit Paris?
Spring or fall, but spring can be rainy. It's a closely held secret that Paris in the spring is just as bad as London. The fall weather is pleasant and the tourists are gone, so I would go sometime in September or October. Just beware of fashion week as prices will jump.
Where is the best shopping in Paris?
The classics are Galeries Lafayette Homme and Printemps which is next door. These are must see. Especially Galeries Lafayette if for no other reason that to soak in the splendor of the magnificent architecture and of course, an insider secret is to go onto the rooftop for a view that might be the best view in all of Paris. But to me the best shopping area is in the Boulevard Saint-Germain area in the 6th arrondissement of Paris and 5th arrondissement - explore up and down the side streets of course. So many wonderful unique little shops, plus some of the best chocolate and pastry shops in the world including Pierre Hermé Paris, Gérard Mulot, Ladurée Eric Kayser.
How many days should a first timer spend in Paris?
I highly recommend staying in Paris minimum a week. Giving that you are a history lover. Museums, parks, galleries, and... you must experience food there - there are so many things to see and try. Paris is so incredible - 3 nights are just so not enough for feeling the true Parisian vibe. I'd rather skip it at all.
