Head to the Financial District in Lower Manhattan to meet up with your guide for this Exclusive tour. Walk down Wall Street, the famous lane that has become synonymous for massive American financial institutions. Learn about the history of the street and the surrounding area, particularly about the early days of 'New Amsterdam,' when the city was a Dutch colony.
After spending some time on Wall Street, walk over to the nearby 9/11 memorial, the site of the tragic terrorist attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. Stand at the two enormous reflecting pools, the footprints of the two towers, and read the names of the victims that are etched around the pools.
After this sobering experience, head to the lower tip of Manhattan to get on a ferry. Stroll right past the line to board, as you have reserve line access for the short ride to Liberty Island. While on board, enjoy the views of the Manhattan skyline and learn about the history of Lady Liberty from your guide.
Once on the island, wander around with your own audio guide, available in nine different languages. Head inside the pedestal of the statue for views of lower Manhattan, Ellis Island and Staten Island. Only a limited number of visitors are permitted per day, so be the fortunate one to experience the Statue of Liberty up close.
Your ticket also includes access to the Liberty Island Museum. Learn about the difficulties and triumphs that France and the US overcame to build this universal symbol of liberty and democracy as well as how the perception of the statue has changed since it was built in 1886.
After the visit to the museum, the tour finishes. Opt to stay on the island to further explore or, once on the ferry, choose to hop off at Ellis Island, the gateway for 12 million immigrants.
Please note: This tour does NOT include admission to the 9/11 Museum and Statue of Liberty Crown admission.
