Itinerary

Day 1: Home - Iquitos - Amazon RIver

Summary of The Day

In the morning, reception at the airport and transfer to the pier. The guide will be in yellow top and gray pants.

(During the transfer, brief orientation of the main tourist attractions of Iquitos City).

We will board to navigate the Amazon River, the largest river in the world by volume, and witness the magnificence of the river, the lush rainforest and the picturesque riverside villages.

Arrival and accommodation at the lodge.

In the afternoon, we will go for a hike through the resting forest to learn more about the flora and fauna. Visit to the local naturist who will explain about the wonderful healing properties and the use to which they are some plants and roots.

Later, we will go on a night walk to discover the mysterious nocturnal world of the rainforest. Likewise distinguish the edges of the Owls and the "Ayaymamas". Overnight at the lodge.

Iquitos, this city in the rainforest region is the sixth largest city in Peru and the starting point for the rainforest route in the north of the Amazon. It enjoys the reputation of Peru's “rainforest capital”.

The local economy is not developed, and because of this, the city has perfectly preserved the life and work style of the rainforest area.

The Iquitos area is hot, humid and rainy all year round. It is a typical tropical rainforest climate with an average annual temperature of about 30 °C.

Day 2: Pacaya Samiria National Reserve

Summary of The Day

Birds observation during the early hours of the morning (before 06:00 hours).

Return to the Lodge for breakfast.

Transfer by boat to the opposite end of the Amazon. On the way we will have the opportunity to observe the wonderful river dolphins, protagonists of stories and legends of the mythology of the Amazon.

In the afternoon, we will continue with the observation of plants and will be practicing fishing using native techniques to capture piranhas, mojarras and other fish species for human consumption.

Overnight at the lodge.

Pacaya-Samiria National Reserve

The Pacaya Samiria National Reserve is the largest national protected area in Peru and the second largest nature reserve in the country (after the Alto Purus National Park) and the fourth largest protected area in South America.

It is also the largest protected area in the Amazon River Basin of South America (the ecosystem is called “Walzea”), so it was designated as the Wetland Convention Area (RAMSAR) on August 28, 1986.

Day 3: Iquitos - Home

Summary of The Day

In the morning, birds observation and visit a riparian community.

Lunch and transfer to the airport to take the flight departure.

    2. Mandatory Tips/Service Fee (Min. $10/person/day for tour guide and driver, $5/person each time for airport transfers) Please pay in cash to the tour guide while on the bus. Any child/Infant reserving a seat will have to pay the service fees as well.

    3. Day 1: Lunch is not included.

Reminder

    2. The sequence of itineraries is subject to change without prior notice according to departure date, weather, traffic, etc. 

    3. Please ensure safety of your luggage always, especially in public areas. The tour operator or the tour guide cannot be held responsible for any loss of personal belongings.

    4. In case of attraction closures (due to holidays or construction, etc.), the tour guide may make some necessary changes to the itinerary accordingly.

    5. No-show of third and fourth discounted passengers incurs penalty fees, and the first and the second passengers should pay the fee to the guide.

    6. In case of extreme weather condition, war, strike and other force majeure events, local operator reserves the right to change the itinerary and all costs are not refundable.

    7. In case of guests voluntarily giving up the tour because of personal reasons, all costs including hotels, transportation etc. are not refundable.

    8. You are advised to confirm with local tour operators one day ahead of the tour.

    9. Please bring valid documentation on travel date (passport, driving license, visa, etc).

    10. National Park Pass / City Pass / Entry Tickets / Annual or Season Passes / Senior Pass (or) any admission tickets to attractions purchased on your own are not allowed on this tour. All mandatory / optional tour services, have to be purchased as instructed in the exclusions section.

    11. Children at 18 or under 18 years old must be accompanied by a partner at 19 or 19+ years old.

    12. Two full-sized beds per room. No additional bed for children, 3rd or 4th travelers. No smoking in hotels.

    13. The attractions may be subject to change on November 28, December 25, January 1 and other special days.

    14. Tour is not wheel chair accessible.

Cancellation / Modification and Refund Policy

1. Cancel or change an order

The following terms apply to the refund policy when canceling or changing an order

1) Reducing the number of travelers

2) Canceling the entire order

3) Change to a different tour

Possible only 31 days prior to the tour departure date.

Modification service fee will be applicable over & above the cancellation charges.

4) Rescheduling tour departure date

This request will not be accepted if the travel date is within 07 days or lesser.

15-30 Days prior to tour departure date 75% of tour cost paid will be refunded

07 Days (or) lesser prior to tour departure date The entire tour cost will be forfeited & No-Refund

2. Modify an order

Charges to modify an order apply for the following:

1) For requests to add more number of travelers

Subject to availability of seats.

2) For requests to change to a different tour

Possible only 31 days prior to the tour departure date.

Cancellation charges as above will be applicable over & above the modification service fee.

3) For requests to reschedule tour departure date

This request will not be accepted if the travel date is within 07 days or lesser.

4) For requests to change name of passengers

This request will be accepted until 3 days prior to the travel date, however same service fee as below will be applicable.

3. Notes

1) We recommend all our passengers to avail "Travel Insurance" to protect themselves against personal / natural / manmade exigencies of all kind (including medical & family emergencies, accidents, flight delays, traffic delays, theft or personal- acts of terrorism, natural calamities etc.) that may affect you from participating in our tours (OR) arise while on tour.

2) Globerouter will take no responsibility for matters as stated above under personnel / natural / manmade exigencies.

3) No part / full refund / compensation will be offered to passengers who miss taking our tours (OR) for any un-utilized services, as per the date / time scheduled on the E-Voucher because all services are reconfirmed and prepaid for Charges as mentioned in our "Cancellation / Modification and Refund Policy" would be applicable.

4) All cancellation & tour modification requests should be emailed to info@globerouter.com.

5) We will not accept any cancellation / modification requests made through local tour provider / tour guide (OR) verbal requests made over the phone to our customer support staff / by voice mail

6) Cancellation request emails will not be accepted unless they have a complete, signed and attached "Globerouter Cancellation Request Form".
