Day 1: Home - Fairbanks

Summary of The Day

Upon arrival in Fairbanks, check in the hotel by yourself. Transfer from the airport by hotel shuttle or on your own

Self-Check-In to Hotel on Day 1. 

Option A: Free hotel-airport shuttle service. Please call hotel front desk after arrival or 1 day before arrival to Fairbanks for shuttle arrangement. (Provide your pick-up time, number and name of customers).

Option B: You can also take taxi, Uber or Lyft to the hotel. The cost would be around US$20-30.

Note: Check in the hotel by yourselves after 3:00 PM.

Day 2: Fairbanks - Borealis Basecamp

Summary of The Day

The morning is at leisure in Fairbanks.

At 11:00AM you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to Borealis Basecamp, approximately 45-50 minutes north of Fairbanks.

This accommodation offers an exceptional stay in fiberglass domes with large, curved windows for optimal northern lights viewing right from your room! Overnight Borealis Basecamp.

Today relax and enjoy all the camp has to offer.

Included today is an ATV or Dog Cart Tour or later in the season when snow conditions allow (typically starting mid-November) a Snowmachine or Dog Sledding Tour. Any of those tours are approx. 1 hour long. (Only one activity is included, please choose at time of booking).

Aurora Viewing at Borealis Basecamp

Alaska Aurora Igloo at Borealis Basecamp has only 15 rooms! Become one-tenth of the luckiest, and sleep with the aurora! (5 additional rooms in peak season!)

Aurora Igloo is located in the White Mountain Mountains, 30 minutes from Fairbanks. It is a strictly selected Aurora Observation Site with wide terrain and high praise.

Resting in the glass room, you don't have to wait in the cold night, nor do you need to go to the aurora cabin alone to observe the aurora, let alone drive back to the hotel after watching the aurora in the middle of the night. When the aurora comes, you can observe the moving Aurora dance lying on the bed in the glass room with strict temperature control. We also provides you with Aurora wake-up service to ensure that you do not miss any aurora!

Aurora Igloo has a special service providing 24-hour non-stop service, it also provides you with a variety of food choices. Our camp center also has a bonfire, you can prepare your own food for barbecue in the field and experience an Alaska bonfire dinner!

You can experience dog sledding, Tubing, skiing, snowboarding, big foot hiking and other special snow events near Aurora Igloo (10 minutes' walking distance) to make your Aurora journey richer and more interesting.

Day 3: Borealis Basecamp - Fairbanks

Summary of The Day

You can select from either returning to Fairbanks at 12 Noon and participating in an optional experience or stay at Basecamp and return to Fairbanks at 4:00PM. Staying at Basecamp you can participate in any of the onsite activities.

Day 5: Fairbanks Departure

Summary of The Day

Take the hotel shuttle to the airport on own for your departure or start additional program.

Tour departures until mid-November include either an ATV or Dog Cart Tour; tour departures starting mid-November include a Dog Sledding or Snowmachine Tour (depending on snow conditions).


To ensure your stay in Borealis Basecamp, we may have to adjust the sequence of itinerary, subject to the availability of Igloos. You may stay in the Borealis Basecamp on the last night. Therefore, please schedule your departure flight after 3 pm or you will need to arrange your own transfer to the airport (no refund in this case).

Booking Info

    Airport pick-up info :

    1. Early check-in at all the hotels is subject to availability & cannot be guaranteed by the tour operator.

    2. Standard check-in time is 15:00 HRS & check-out time is 11:00 HRS. For Borealis Basecamp, the check-in time is 16:00 HRS & check-out time is 12:00 HRS at noon.

    3. Please call the local tour provider's number on the confirmed e-voucher one day before the departure to reconfirm.

    General info:

    1. Globerouter cooperates with top local tour operators and so that the best quality of services to all travelers.

    2. The sequence of itineraries is subject to change without prior notice according to departure date, weather, traffic, etc.

    3. In case of attraction closures (due to holidays or construction, etc.), the tour guide may make some necessary changes to the itinerary.

    4. In case of extreme weather condition, war, strike and other force majeure events, local operator reserves the right to change the itinerary and all costs are not refundable. 

    5. In case of guests voluntarily giving up the tour because of personal reasons, all costs including hotels, transportation etc. is not refundable.

    6. It is advised to contact the local operator for confirmation one day before departure. 

    7. Please bring valid documentation on travel date (passport, driving license, visa, etc).

    8. Adult price is applied for children.

    9. The domes at Borealis Basecamp are suitable for 1 or 2 people. Triple occupancy requires a roll away bed. Quad occupancy unfortunately is not possible. Parties of 4 people will have to book 2 domes. 

    10. Domes are furnished with 1 King bed (convertible into 2 twin beds) Wifi, Sitting Area or Kitchenette and hot water pot (no cooking facilities!). The en-suite bathroom has a toilet, shower and sink.

    11. The Aurora Borealis are a natural phenomenon. There is no way for us to guarantee that you will see the Aurora. We do our best to provide premier locations for viewing, should the Aurora come out. Please check weather and Aurora reports before booking your tour with us.

    12. The winter weather in Fairbanks is changeable, we may temporarily cancel or change optional tour due to extremely weather condition. Partial refund may be available.

    13. Please note the Hotel has a strict noise and disturbance policy on all premises. We want all guests to enjoy their stay; noise complaints will be taken seriously and may result in eviction without compensation after two warnings. The Hotel enforces quiet hours between 2:00AM and 10:00AM.

Cancellation / Modification and Refund Policy

1. Cancel or change an order

The following terms apply to the refund policy when canceling or changing an order

1) Reducing the number of travelers

2) Canceling the entire order

3) Change to a different tour

Possible only 46 days prior to the tour departure date.

Modification service fee will be applicable over & above the cancellation charges.

4) Rescheduling tour departure date

This request will not be accepted if the travel date is within 45 days or lesser.

61 Days (or) more prior to tour departure date 70% of tour cost paid will be refunded
46-60 Days prior to tour departure date 50% of tour cost paid will be refunded

2. Modify an order

Charges to modify an order apply for the following:

1) For requests to add more number of travelers

Subject to availability of seats.

2) For requests to change to a different tour

Possible only 46 days prior to the tour departure date.

Cancellation charges as above will be applicable over & above the modification service fee.

3) For requests to reschedule tour departure date

This request will not be accepted if the travel date is within 06 days or lesser.

4) For requests to change name of passengers

This request will be accepted until 3 days prior to the travel date, however same service fee as below will be applicable.

3. Notes

1) We recommend all our passengers to avail "Travel Insurance" to protect themselves against personal / natural / manmade exigencies of all kind (including medical & family emergencies, accidents, flight delays, traffic delays, theft or personal- acts of terrorism, natural calamities etc.) that may affect you from participating in our tours (OR) arise while on tour.

2) Globerouter will take no responsibility for matters as stated above under personnel / natural / manmade exigencies.

3) No part / full refund / compensation will be offered to passengers who miss taking our tours (OR) for any un-utilized services, as per the date / time scheduled on the E-Voucher because all services are reconfirmed and prepaid for Charges as mentioned in our "Cancellation / Modification and Refund Policy" would be applicable.

4) All cancellation & tour modification requests should be emailed to info@globerouter.com.

5) We will not accept any cancellation / modification requests made through local tour provider / tour guide (OR) verbal requests made over the phone to our customer support staff / by voice mail

6) Cancellation request emails will not be accepted unless they have a complete, signed and attached "Globerouter Cancellation Request Form".

What should we wear during winter months in Alaska?

 Clothing is highly suggested to be in layers as Alaska gets super chilling in winter months. You will need layers of normal clothing with a sweater and insulated parka jackets, woolen socks, winter boots, woolen scarf, gloves with liners, winter hats or headgears, etc.

The coldest month is January when the average temperature overnight is 9.3°F. 

What is the best time to go to Alaska to see the northern lights?

From mid-September to April, when you have the best chance of witnessing the phenomenon of the aurora borealis. Staying for 3 nights, the chance to see the Northern lights is believed to be up to 90%!

What kind of meal will be offered in Borealis Basecamp?

There is a full menu. Lunch will be sandwiches, soups, salads. Dinner will be pasta, steak, salmon, king crab, rockfish.
