Day 1: Arrive in Chiang Rai

Summary of The Day

Arrive in Chiang Rai and meet with our representative. Then, transfer and check in at the selected hotel, enjoying the rest of the day free at leisure.

Maybe explore the heart of the old town, which dates from the reign of King Mangrai in the 13th century, or wander around the bustling night bazaar to catch a glimpse of the spirit of this beautiful area.

On arrival at Chiang Rai Airport please collect your luggage and proceed to the exit of the Customs Hall. You will be met by a representative who will be holding a sign with your name on it.

Day 2: Chiang Rai - Golden Triangle - Chiang Rai

Summary of The Day

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, before heading to the centre to admire the iconic monument of King Mangrai, en route to the Hilltribe Museum and Education Centre. Learn all about the dozens of hill tribes who, for centuries, have lived in the highlands around the city and how they have survived the spread of globalisation.

Continue to the Mae Chan district to explore the remote hill tribe villages of Yao and Akha people, and experience their way of life first-hand. Head towards Mae Sai, a small border town with a busy market, before going into the heart of the infamous Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet. This natural wilderness gained an unwanted notoriety in the Sixties because of the abundant opium cultivation in the area.

After lunch, continue to Chiang Saen to visit the hilltop Wat Phra That Chom Kitti, which is reached via a 350-step staircase. Return to Chiang Rai and have the rest of the day free at leisure.

Day 3: Chiang Rai - "White Temple" - Chiang Mai - Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

Summary of The Day

Begin your journey after breakfast at the hotel, heading towards Chiang Mai. On the southern outskirts of Chiang Rai, stop at the magnificent Wat Rong Khun, a dazzling temple built in the 1990s. Its ornate all-white exterior, with embedded pieces of mirror makes it one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand.

Continue to Chiang Mai and, on arrival, visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, one of the most revered temples in the country. This sacred location is at the top of a mountain from where you can appreciate stunning panoramic views of the city. To reach the temple you must climb up a 309-step naga staircase.

Alternatively, you can use the cable car to reach the temple. Afterwards, head to the riverbank and hop on a boat for a cruise along the scenic River Ping. Relax, enjoy the cruise, and then visit a farm to savour a delicious khao soi noodle curry and watch a fascinating dance performance.

After a walk through the local flower and fresh produce market, return to the hotel. The cable car ride is included.

Day 4: Free time - Chiang Mai City Tour

Summary of The Day

Breakfast at the hotel and morning at leisure until lunch time at a local restaurant.

After lunch you will explore this ancient city. Chiang Mai’s old town is still surrounded by remnants of the old defensive walls and a moat.

Visit the historic Wat Suan Dok and admire its 48- metre-high Sri Lankan-style chedi, which overlooks the Royal Cemetery. Continue to Wat Phra Sing in the old town and appreciate the beauty of this large complex of more than 60 buildings before visiting 14th century Wat Chedi Luang in the very heart of the old city. In the evening, you can enjoy an optional khantoke dinner (not included).

Day 5: Depart Chiang Mai

Summary of The Day

Start your last day in Chiang Mai with a delicious breakfast, before checking out of your selected hotel.

    5. The hotel check-in is available after 3pm 

    6. Child rate is applied to the child under 12 years old and sharing the beds with 2 adult.

    7. All the guests have to stay with the group at all time. If absent, a person will be charged $60/per day.

    8. National Park Pass / City Pass / Entry Tickets / Annual or Season Passes / Senior Pass (or) any admission tickets to attractions purchased on your own are not allowed on this tour. All mandatory / optional tour services, have to be purchased as instructed in the exclusions section.

    9. Please ensure the safety of your luggage always, especially in public areas. The tour operator or the tour guide cannot be held responsible for any loss of personal belongings.

    10. Tour is not wheelchair accessible.

    11. In case of attraction closures (due to holidays or construction, etc.), the tour guide may make some necessary changes to the itinerary accordingly.

    12. In case of extreme weather condition, war, strike and other force majeure events, local operator reserves the right to change the itinerary and all costs are not refundable.

    13. In case of guests voluntarily giving up the tour because of personal reasons, all costs including hotels, transportation etc. is not refundable.

    14. It is advised to contact the local operator for confirmation one day before departure.

    15. Please bring valid documentation on travel date (passport, driving license, visa, etc).

    16. It is highly recommended that passengers book the flights after receiving the confirmed documents (voucher). Globerouter will not be responsible for any flight cancellation/change charges incase of any changes before final confirmation. 

    17. Baggage allowance in Asia and China are restricted to 20kg (44lbs.), and one carry on baggage with dimensions not exceeding 22" X 14" X 9" per person. On transpacific flights, economy class baggage allowance of up to 2 suitcases with each dimensions not exceeding 29" X 20" X 10". However, porterage for only one piece of baggage id included.

    18. During the trip, you may be served by professional tour guide at each city, and/or a professional tour escort.

Cancellation / Modification and Refund Policy

1. Cancel or change an order

The following terms apply to the refund policy when canceling or changing an order

1) Reducing the number of travelers

2) Canceling the entire order

3) Change to a different tour

Possible only 31 days prior to the tour departure date.

Modification service fee will be applicable over & above the cancellation charges.

4) Rescheduling tour departure date

This request will not be accepted if the travel date is within 07 days or lesser.

48 Days (or) more prior to tour departure date 75% of tour cost paid will be refunded
48-30 Days prior to tour departure date 40% of tour cost paid will be refunded

18 Days (or) lesser prior to tour departure date The entire tour cost will be forfeited & No-Refund

2. Modify an order

Charges to modify an order apply for the following:

1) For requests to add more number of travelers

Subject to availability of seats.

2) For requests to change to a different tour

Possible only 45 days prior to the tour departure date.

Cancellation charges as above will be applicable over & above the modification service fee.

3) For requests to reschedule tour departure date

This request will not be accepted if the travel date is within 20 days or lesser.

4) For requests to change name of passengers

This request will be accepted until 7 days prior to the travel date, however same service fee as below will be applicable.

1) We recommend all our passengers to avail "Travel Insurance" to protect themselves against personal / natural / manmade exigencies of all kind (including medical & family emergencies, accidents, flight delays, traffic delays, theft or personal- acts of terrorism, natural calamities etc.) that may affect you from participating in our tours (OR) arise while on tour.

2) Globerouter will take no responsibility for matters as stated above under personnel / natural / manmade exigencies.

3) No part / full refund / compensation will be offered to passengers who miss taking our tours (OR) for any un-utilized services, as per the date / time scheduled on the E-Voucher because all services are reconfirmed and prepaid for Charges as mentioned in our "Cancellation / Modification and Refund Policy" would be applicable.

4) All cancellation & tour modification requests should be emailed to info@globerouter.com.

5) We will not accept any cancellation / modification requests made through local tour provider / tour guide (OR) verbal requests made over the phone to our customer support staff / by voice mail

6) Cancellation request emails will not be accepted unless they have a complete, signed and attached "Globerouter Cancellation Request Form".
